Nathan was born and raised in Auburn, Washington.  He has his Bachelors in Fine Arts from Pacific Lutheran University. Nathan came to Celebration in the fall of 2017, having served four years as volunteer youth director in Auburn. In the summer of 2018 he completed a four-year youth ministry training course, earning the designation of an ELCA Youth Minister (Region 2).

Nathan married his wife, Chandra, in October of 2015.  The Himes family expanded with the birth of their first son, Jonah Elliot, in 2018 and again in 2020 when they welcomed another baby boy, Oliver Alan.

Nathan is an artist and a potter, and has an impressive comic book collection. He loves a good “dad” joke, and gets great joy from getting to know as many people as he can!
